Captain Marek Zieliński spent twenty-two years at sea before he ever signed a lease on a dock. When he came ashore to raise his family in Gdańsk, he couldn't find a single waterfront where berthing, hauling, repairs, chandlery, and customs were handled by people who actually owned boats. So he built one — eleven hectares on the right bank of the Martwa Wisła, run the way a captain runs a ship.
Sixteen years later, the yard is still majority-owned by the Zieliński family. The first hire is still on the payroll. The standards the captain set in 2008 — on-time haul-outs, one-call service, written quotes before the crane swings — are still the ones we measure ourselves against every winter season.

The founder's chapter
Twenty-two years at sea. Sixteen years ashore. One contract for everything.
Marek Zieliński graduated from the Gdynia Maritime University in 1986 and sailed as a deck officer on bulk carriers and reefers for the next two decades. He came home to Gdańsk in 2007 with a clear view of what was missing on the Polish coast: a single waterfront where an owner could hand over a boat at the fuel dock and pick it up six weeks later, fully repaired, fully provisioned, with the customs paperwork already filed.
He bought the brownfield site on the right bank of the Martwa Wisła in early 2008, broke ground that April, and took the first 48-berth pontoon into the water on the 14th of August. The refit shed and travelift followed in 2010. The chandlery in 2012. Crew accommodation in 2016. Each phase was paid for out of operating cash, never by selling a share of the company — which is why the Zieliński family still holds majority ownership today.
The yard's operating ethos is the one Marek wrote into the staff manual in 2008 and has not changed since: every owner gets one named contact, one written quote, and one timeline. Berthing, hauling, repairs, provisioning, and customs sit under a single contract so an owner doesn't spend a Baltic weekend chasing five different offices across the Tri-City. It is the simplest idea in marina management, and it is still the one we are judged on.
