The five technical questions our dockmaster and yard manager field most weeks, answered straight. If yours is not here, the office picks up within two rings.
What is the maximum draft at the marina entrance?
4.5 metres at the gate on the Martwa Wisła, surveyed at MLW. Vessels drawing more are accommodated at the outer breakwater on prior notice; we coordinate the Hel pilot and the entrance transit on your behalf. The approach channel is buoyed and lit, and our 24/7 manned gatehouse tracks arrivals on VHF channel 72.
What shore power and connectivity sits on every pontoon?
Every berth carries CEE-form shore power up to 250A three-phase, with 32A and 16A blue sockets on the smaller fingers. Fibre-optic Wi-Fi blankets the pontoons and the refit hall — symmetrical 200 Mbps, no captive portal. Fresh water, LED dock lighting, and waste pump-out are within 30 m of every berth.
How are customs, flag, and VAT handled for non-EU vessels?
Polish customs and flag representation sit on site, with same-day documentation for EU and non-EU flagged vessels. We process the Temporary Import Admission (ATA Carnet) for short stays and handle VAT deferral arrangements for longer lay-ups. Pantaenius, Yacht-Pool, and MHG insurance binders can be issued at the chandlery counter without a separate trip into the city.
What are the winter storage and haul-out logistics?
The 70-tonne travelift runs the published slot calendar from October through April. Vessels go ashore onto cradled hard-standing or inside the 42 m heated hall; mast-step, antifouling, rigging, and engine work are scheduled before relaunch. 92% of booked slots launch on time across the last four winter seasons — weather holds are flagged at booking, not on launch day.
Where does my crew sleep, train, and reach the airport?
The on-site crew house accommodates 60+ in single and twin rooms, with laundry, gym, and a mess that runs a hot breakfast during the season. A scheduled shuttle connects to Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport three times daily, and a night transfer can be arranged for late crew changes. Wi-Fi, workspace, and a 24-hour kettle are non-negotiable.
